Bikeage Base Camp ’14

March 15-23, Solvang (CA) 4 cyclists, 1 chef aim to do it right in Solvang.
After 4 cold Alberta months with no rideable weather or roads, it was time to break the cycle and claim some road miles. Added incentive was the Solvang Double Century on March 22. Was it possible to get enough fitness to ride 200 miles after a winter training indoors plus one week of outside riding? Bikeage (Jason) decides to try, and Gordie, Peter, and cp enroll to support the cause.

It’s a Bikeage New Year – Review and Plan

It’s that time of year -reflect on what you did, and consider what you want to do. Bikeage had a busy year balancing work, play, and riding. 5,561 km in 206 hours of riding. After a long, cold winter, the solo Highwood Triangle ride on June 22 was accomplished after 7 weeks of outdoor riding. The rest of the season consisted of enjoyable rides exploring the Foothills of southern Alberta with some notable new roads explored – even after 15 years of plowing this territory.
